Why I created the TAX blog
TL;DR:
To simplify the US tax code for non-tax experts and to combat the spread of tax misinformation.

The longer version:

The US tax code has gotten so complicated that a normal person (and yes, any person who likes reading the tax code is not normal) cannot comply with their tax obligations without the help of a tax professional! Due to the complexity, a normal person is not able to determine whether a so-call tax professional is qualified to help fill out their tax returns. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack, only the needle can potentially save you from tax doom.

As a US international tax attorney (and yes, I'm not normal), I have seen my fair share of tax tragedies. Trust me, fixing these tragedies often costs more time, money, and stress (including hair loss) than getting it right the first time. And let's not even get started on the joys of interest and penalties!

Now, I realize that calling in a tax attorney for everyday tax issues is not practical (like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut). That's why I created the TAX blog as a way to simplify everyday tax issues and combat the spread of tax misinformation for normal people!
